These rustic nectarine tartlets are easy to prepare and look just as beautiful as the ones from a pastry shop. Flakey puff pastry is topped with the sweetest nectarines I could find, and sprinkled with sugar for a little extra sweetness. Cook and cool the finished tartlets, then serve with crème fraîche, whipped cream, a few scoops of your favorite ice cream or eat them plain like I did. A summer dessert that’s great for entertaining and OMG delicious! And the best part… your guests will have no idea these were so simple to create!
As I’ve said before, summer gatherings should be simple. More often than not I find myself rushing to put together a dinner party after a long day at the beach and am looking for a quick dessert. These beautiful summer days should be spent outside, and not stuck in the kitchen slaving over complicated desserts! Your guests don’t have to know these impressive tarts require just four ingredients.
Ingredients:
1 (17.3 oz.) package frozen puff pastry sheets, thawed
2 lb. nectarines, cut into 1/4 inch slices
6 tbs. sugar
1/4 cup honey
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Cut each pastry sheet into 6 squares, and place in a single layer on 2 parchment lined baking sheets. Arrange nectarine slices on each pastry square; sprinkled with sugar. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until pastry is golden brown, retaining pans top to bottom halfway through. Cool on a wire rack 5 minutes. Drizzle with honey just before serving.
