BBQ pulled pork and pizza aren’t two things you normally pair together, but I definitely think people should. Cheesy, piping-hot pizza is topped with pulled pork, mozzarella cheese, fresh slices of green pepper and red onion, with extra flavor coming from a sweet and tangy homemade BBQ Sauce. Like I said in my previous post, Max Shapiro the Beagle loved to eat, and another one of his favorites was anything BBQ. Another crazy story about Max is that one time he grabbed and ate an entire thing of raw, yes I said raw, pizza dough off the counter. I combined another two of his favorites, BBQ and pizza dough to make a meal that would definitely be Max-approved.
Can you believe he ate an entire package of raw dough? That day I remember his tummy got so big as the yeast was expanding… poor dog. Every time I make pizza I think of Max, and that terrible day! I never really thought to put BBQ pork on pizza until the other day, when I was thinking about what Max liked to eat. I wish I knew how delicious this was and I would of done it sooner! The pork gets this delicious crispiness to it that pairs perfectly with the flavor of the peppers and onions. It makes a simple week night dinner, that packs a ton of flavor.
